A Lesson in Arrogance from Obama and Pelosi

We the people are now receiving a lesson in arrogance from President Obama and Nancy Pelosi. One would think that the results of recent elections especially the election of Republican Senator Scott Brown in Massachusetts, who openly ran against the president’s health care bill, would have brought them back to reality. Even though poll after poll shows that the majority of American people think this is a bad bill Obama and Pelosi are intent on ramming it through. Of course “our nations leaders” believe they know what is best for us. And according to them what is best for us is an unpopular, unconstitutional bill that they hope to pass into law by unconstitutional means.
At this time I would urge all Americans to stand up in protest of these tactics and contact their elected representatives and remind them who is in actual control of this country but unfortunately I have begun to feel that this would have no effect. Because of this I propose that we the people begin teaching our own lesson to those in Washington. This lesson should start now and should roughly consist of reminding these so called leaders that the citizens of this great country lead themselves and that elected officials are nothing more than representatives of the voice of the people. This should be followed up by the American people recognizing and supporting candidates that do realize what is meant by being a representative of the people. These candidates should also be knowledgeable of the U.S. Constitution and the limits that our Constitution places on the federal government. These candidates should realize that they are to govern by the Constitution. These candidates should also realize that it is not about what they want or what their party wants but what the people want. These candidates should be willing to overturn any legislation that has been passed that is unconstitutional. This lesson will ultimately be realized in November when those elected officials that have refused to listen to and relay the wishes of those they represent are voted out of office and replaced with the types of candidates I have described above. This lesson should be constantly reinforced.
We can remain a free republic if and only if we remain vigilant in safeguarding our liberties against those that wish to infringe upon them. We owe this not only to ourselves and our children but also to those that have fought and died to provide and ensure the freedoms that we enjoy today.
